Systematic Approach to Increase Efficiency of Execution
of CHDL Simulation Programs

Abstract
The efficiency of execution of CHDL simulation programs in a
multi-processr environment is examined in this paper. This problem is
considered on two basic levels: the simulation system level and the simulation
program level. The CHDL simulation systems with control graph mechanisms are
considered. The OSM language is taken as an example. The algorithm of
allocation of simulated architecture in a multi-processor reconfigurable system
is given, illustrated with spacious examples. The allocation problems when no
sufficient resources (processors and/or links) are available are discussed in
details. Such a situation requires dynamic reconfiguration. Finally,
conclusions are drawn and some indications for future research given.
