The library owns over 16 000 books and approximately 250 journals. This collection, acquired through purchase, exchange or donations, is constantly growing and corresponds to the research interests of the Institute. It is probably the largest and the most complete one in the domain in Poland.

The staff of the Institute as well as visitors can use the reading-room, well equipped with dictionaries, encyclopedias and journals (open access to the stocks).

The library cooperates with other libraries and exchanges publications with other similar centres in Poland and abroad.
